Procedure for Hair Sample Collection for Alcohol Testing
Hair samples for alcohol testing will be collected either by one of our own staff or one of our registered collectors. We access a network of trained collectors in order to operate a nationwide service and given the large number of sample collectors we have access to, generally this falls into the category of a “local” collector, which means we have lower sampling costs (time and mileage) and higher responsiveness.
Upon placement of an order with us (including full case details recorded), we will arrange for the samples to be taken at a time and place convenient to your client. Ideally, this should be in a professional setting (such as a solicitors office) where our collector can safely carry out identity checks and take the sample in privacy. At the sampling, our collector will require your client to sign a declaration relating to the sampling. If you have reason to believe that the client does not have the capacity to sign our declaration, for whatever reason, please let us know beforehand and we will discuss with you how best to proceed.
You will be given an estimate of the sampling fees (collectors, couriers etc) with the quotation, which may be refined when we have the full case details. On occasion, clients may refuse to participate having previously agreed to do so or indeed, just not turn up for the appointment. Please try to ensure that this does not occur as this can result in delays to the resolution of the case. Unfortunately, we must still charge the full rate for missed appointments.
We will carry out identity checks at the time of sampling and photograph the client as evidence of precisely which individual was sampled at that time. We will let you know beforehand the acceptable forms of identification so that the client can bring them on the day. We would like to see original documentation and we will keep a record of these items.
If you would like to discuss a case, request a quotation or place an order, please feel free to call us on either 0191 543 6334 or 0203 603 1323.
